Welcome to the Girl Scouts Robotics Teams website.
The Girl Scouts Robotics Teams (P.R.) are girls only teams, representing the Girl Scouts of Caribe Council. They design, build and program robots to compete with other robotics teams from across the island of Puerto Rico, and around the world, in friendly competition presented by VEX Robotics and the RECF (Robotics Education and Competition Foundation). Each year, they are presented with a new challenge (game) to compete in, and they must design theirs robot accordingly. In the fall and winter, they compete in regional tournaments with other teams in Puerto Rico, and the best teams from each regional qualify to compete at the VEX Latinamerican Championship. Then, only the champion alliance (2 teams) and the teams winners of Excellence award and Design award, go to the VEX World Championship. In 2012, the 2247B team qualified and competed in this World Robotics Championship. :) Elementary school, middle school and high school girls, grades 5-12, are encouraged to join this teams. Members participate in hands-on engineering, mechanical design, fabrication, electronics, programming, team leadership, team work, time management, troubleshooting, marketing, graphic design, community outreach, and most importantly... - have lots of FUN! :D |
