We are a group of girls and parents that we unite to form a robotics team, not only of girls, but specifically of girls that are Girl Scouts in high schools. We started in year 2009. So far we've impacted 24 girls and we have a total of 18 trophies.
Our robotics team (2247-B) is currently enrolled in the organization VEX Robotics Competition presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation. In Puerto Rico these competitions are managed and organized by the Puerto Rico Institute of Robotics, PRIOR. Did you know... that robotics team 2247-B, was the first and so far has been the only team representing the Girls Scouts organization that has reached the VEX Robotics World Championship? There have been other teams from the United States that had represented the GS organization in regional and states tournaments, but so far the only team that has made it to the World Competition has been the team from Puerto Rico back in April 2012. |

Our Goals
• Attend the 2016 VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky and bring home the championship trophy!
• We are striving to win (again) the Excellence Award – the top award presented for recognition of overall excellence in all aspects of competition.
• Expand the resources (VEX building materials) available to Girl Scouts Robotics Teams for the development and construction of our robots.
• Run VEX workshops for Girl Scouts from elementary, middle and high schools, who are interested in VEX, but are not currently involved in a team.
• Learn engineering, mechanical design, fabrication, electronics, programming, team leadership, team work, time management, troubleshooting, marketing, graphic design, community outreach, and most importantly...
• Have lots of FUN! :)
